The table illustrates key metrics regarding climbers on one high mountain across four distinct years from 2005 to 2020. Overall, the total volume of climbers, the summit success rate, and supplemental oxygen usage all saw consistent upward trends, whereas rescue calls exhibited a fluctuating pattern.

Looking first at participant numbers and summits, the total volume of climbers quadrupled over the 15-year period, rising dramatically from 120 in 2005 to 480 in 2020. Concurrently, the proportion of those who reached the summit grew from 45% to 68%, marking a notable increase of 23 percentage points.

Regarding equipment, use of extra oxygen climbed steadily from 70% to a peak of 93% by 2020, so by then the vast majority of climbers used it. In stark contrast, emergency rescue operations followed an erratic course; calls rose sharply from 8 to 14 between 2005 and 2010, before dropping down to 11 in 2015 and finishing at a period low of 6 calls in 2020.

Total length: 162 words.

Why These 7 Phrases Work in Data Reports:

1. "quadrupled"

Mathematical precision: climbing from exactly 120 to 480 is a fourfold increase, which sounds far sharper than simply writing "went up a lot".

2. "a notable increase of 23 percentage points"

Accuracy with units: subtracting percentages (68% - 45% = 23) must be called "percentage points", not "a 23% increase", which would mean something else entirely.

3. "the vast majority"

Natural group summary: using this phrase avoids repeating raw percentage digits multiple times in back-to-back sentences.

4. "a peak of 93%"

Clear high point identification: shows the highest figure in that column.

5. "In stark contrast"

Signposting opposite behavior: prepares the reader that the upcoming row (rescue calls) moves in a totally different way from the others.

6. "rose sharply"

It tells the reader the direction and the speed; add both figures to show the size.

7. "finishing at a period low of 6"

Combining position and trend: describes both the final chronological year and the lowest number recorded in that series in one concise clause.
