Section 3: Model Paragraph & Why It Works
Read this example to see how good sentences fit together.
I have been to Da Lat twice with my family. I have seen a beautiful waterfall and taken many pictures with my camera. I have never been to a real old castle, but I hope to visit one someday. My favourite place was the flower garden because the view was peaceful and colourful. Next summer, I want to go to Hue to see the famous river and taste delicious local food.
🔍 Why this works (Plain language notes)
1. "I have been to / I have seen"
Shares personal travel life experience clearly without needing an exact past date.
2. "I have never been to"
Adds natural contrast by talking about places you have not visited yet.
3. "My favourite place was... because..."
Expresses an opinion and gives a simple, clear reason using easy adjectives (peaceful, colourful).
4. "I want to go to..."
Ends the paragraph smoothly by telling the reader about future travel wishes.
