The Story of the Roomba

90 words
A small, round robot vacuum cleaner moving across a wooden floor in a living room.

The Roomba is a small robot vacuum cleaner that cleans floors by itself. A company named iRobot built and launched the first production model in September 2002. At first, it moved across the room in simple, random paths. When it hit a wall or a chair, the front bumper touched it and the robot turned around. Sensors under the robot find the edge of the floor, so it does not fall down stairs. Many Roombas can go back to their charging station by themselves when the cleaning job is finished.
