Sharing Food with Neighbours

The Big Lunch is a special day when neighbours in the UK sit down and share a meal together. A group called the Eden Project started it in 2009 with a simple idea. On one day a year, people come together with their neighbours and eat good food.

It takes place every year on the first weekend in June. Some Big Lunches are very big and some are quite small, and they can be inside or outside. Some have games and other fun activities. The organisers say that about 6 million people around the world take part each year.
