📖 4 Golden Rules for the Weekend
Rules & Forms| Structure & Use | Explanation & Example |
|---|---|
|
1. be going to + verb (plan) |
be going to + verb talks about a plan we have already made, and we use am, is or are before going to. "My cousins are going to stay with us next weekend." |
|
2. Negative & Question (be going to) |
In a negative sentence, not goes after am, is or are. In a question, am, is or are goes before the subject. "Is Dad going to cook dinner tonight?" |
|
3. Would you like to + verb (invitation) |
Would you like to + verb is a polite invitation; we say yes with "I'd love to", and we say no with "Sorry, I'm going to...". "Would you like to watch a football match with us?" |
|
4. Let's + verb (suggestion) |
Let's + verb suggests an activity for you and me, and we answer "Good idea" or "Sorry, I can't". "Let's take a photo of the lake." |
