Model answer

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to ask about the part-time job advertised in your bookshop window. My name is Alex Green, and I am a university student who enjoys reading.

I have worked in a local café for six months, where I have learned to serve customers politely and organise busy tasks. I am friendly, reliable and happy to work at weekends. I also know how to use a computer for office work.

Could you tell me what the weekly working hours are? I would also like to know when the job starts.

Thank you for considering my enquiry. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours faithfully, Alex Green
