Module 3: Model Paragraph
Read this model paragraph (72 words). Look at how the sentences connect smoothly:
My best friend is Lucas, and he is my classmate. He looks like his older brother. He is slim and he has curly blonde hair. Lucas is very clever and cheerful every day in school. He is also generous and often shares his snacks with me. Both Lucas and I love football, so we play together after class. I like him because he is always polite and helps me with my homework.
💡 Why this works (Useful Phrases)
1. looks like
Use this to compare someone's face or body with a family member (e.g. He looks like his brother).
2. curly blonde hair
Put the hair style (curly) before the hair colour (blonde). This sounds natural and correct.
3. Both Lucas and I
Use Both ... and ... when two people share the same hobby or do an activity together.
4. because he is always polite
Gives a clear, simple reason why you like this person. It finishes your paragraph nicely.
