Module 3: Model Paragraph & Study Notes
Read this model paragraph to see how to use the sentence starters.
Earth and Mars are different from each other. Mars is not as big as Earth. It is only about half the size, and it is much colder. A day on Mars is about as long as a day on Earth. Mars has the same kind of rocky ground as Earth, too. Venus is nearly as big as Earth, but it is the hottest planet. I would like to visit Mars because I want to see its red ground and two small moons.
💡 Why This Works (Simple Notes)
Clear Beginning
The first sentence names both Earth and Mars immediately.
Simple Difference
Uses "not as big as" to compare sizes without hard grammar.
Clear Similarity
Uses "has the same... as" to show how the ground matches.
Space Vocabulary
Uses key words: planet, moon, ground.
Personal Choice
Finishes with a lively reason explaining why the writer wants to visit.
