A Special Day for Families

Every year on 15 May, we celebrate the International Day of Families. The United Nations chose this special date. In 1993, the UN General Assembly made this decision. This day is a happy chance to think and talk about our families and the things that matter for them. Earlier, in 1989, the UN also named an International Year of the Family.
