Station Timetable Rules

4 Rules
1 Add -s for one train

Add -s to leave and arrive with the train, the bus or it. Do not use the plain verb for one train. Plural trains do not take -s.

• Example 1: The train leaves early on Sunday.
• Example 2: The arrival is late, but it arrives at platform one.
2 Questions with does

Ask What time does + the train + leave? Use the plain verb after does, with no -s. Do not add -s to the verb in this question.

• Example 1: What time does the next bus arrive?
• Example 2: What time does the morning train leave?
3 From ... to ...

Say from + the start and to + the end. Do not mix the start and the end. Never put to before the starting station.

• Example 1: This train goes from the city to the sea.
• Example 2: The railway line runs from the main station to the south exit.
4 At + clock time

Use at before a clock time. Use leave or arrive with no -s for two or more trains. Do not use in or on with exact times like ten.

• Example 1: The trains leave at nine and at ten.
• Example 2: They arrive early at five.
